Panhandle Helicopter Inc. was founded in 1986 by Jon Hubof operating a single helicopter. Since inception, the company has a number of helicopters including two MD500D’s, one Bell 407, two Huey’s and one Cessna 206 utility fixed wing. The company pilots have had a combined 220 years of aviation experience, both military and civilian, allowing Panhandle Helicopter Inc. to provided safe, reliable and dependable services to complete the needs of many different missions.

Pilots have the ability to complete a variety of missions to include: Vertical reference, fire suppression, deep snow operations, low-level animal survey, animal capture, animal paintballing, animal darting, eradication projects, PSD operations, Helitorch operations, STEP qualified (one-skid/toe-in landing qualified).

Training includes annual review of federal regulations, USFS regulations and requirements, airspace and weather review, and other related topics. Panhandle Helicopter pilots also completed annual flight training and FAA check rides, given by FAA check pilots, along with recurrent long line and water suppression training, given by OAS/USFS check airmen.

With numerous factory schools and FAA certifications, our maintenance staff, which has experience in both military and civilian field operations, possess’ the ability to safely maintain the aircraft in local and remote locations regardless of the environmental conditions.
